CV-SALTS and Drinking Water Legislation
The Kings River Water Quality Coalition (KRWQC) is a participant in helping develop and provide comments on Amendments to the Tulare Lake Basin Plan regarding groundwater quality regulations. Most recently, modifications are being proposed by the Regional Water Quality Control Board to include the incorporation of drinking water solutions as part of a permit for agricultural discharge.
On April 9, 2018, the agricultural representatives involved in these discussions and amendments provided a presentation to KRWQC growers on CV-SALTS and possible legislation (SB 623/budget trailer bill) to address the State concerns.
